Our wines

“Terroir, wind, precision”: this is how our wines are born, reflecting the nature that inspires us.

Each wine bears the mark of the soil, the wind that constantly sweeps across the hillsides, the sunny exposure, and the unspoiled landscape.

Shaped by four geological eras, the entire vineyard is located within a radius of 600 meters, offering a true unity of place while providing a mosaic of micro-terroirs conducive to the noble grape varieties of Bordeaux: the charm and aromatic richness of Merlot, the power and complexity of Malbec, and the finesse and freshness of Cabernet Franc.

Each of these exceptional micro-terroirs in the often overlooked Côtes de Bourg region chooses to reveal its unique potential through the prism of agroecology and precision winemaking.

In particular, Merlot vines planted in 1949 on the limestone hillside (co-planted with Malbec and Cabernet Franc), plots dating from 1962, and vines over 60 years old are cultivated, bringing depth and complexity to our wines.

Trait d’union

Le Trait d’Union is the link to the land and to successive generations.

We seek a direct, raw expression of what the terroir gives us. Aged exclusively in vats. The wines are distinguished by their aromatic energy, reactive tannins, and beautiful bitterness that invites you to dip your nose back into the glass. 100% Merlot in 2020 and over 95% in other vintages, this is a little-known expression of this grape variety that we discover here. The grapes come exclusively from the Valades island and, for the most part, from the north-facing slopes of the plateau, cradled by the singing winds.

Par dessus les temps

A call for wisdom, in a way.

Par Dessus les Temps is an invitation not to get caught up in everyday life or passing trends, whether in terms of viticulture, winemaking, or aging. It is, in a way, a call for wisdom. The grapes come from Bouillet, the highest part of the estate, rising between 72 and 78 meters above sea level, bordered to the north by woods and opening to the south with a magnificent view of the ancient village of Bourg, the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, and the bridges of Bordeaux. This cuvée remains a secret for the first few months after bottling, then reveals a superb balance between tannic density and the tension of wines from red clay and gravel soils. The nose remains extremely precise and captivating, with a long finish. The aging of this cuvée is carefully controlled to complement its great finesse.

À nos pères

A tribute to our roots, to the memory and to the winemakers of yesterday and today.

This is dedicated to all those who have crossed our paths, laid a stone on this magnificent journey, and inspired us to one day take over the Château Grand-Maison and create POUVARET VIGNERONS.

The limestone terroirs of the southern slopes of Conilh are reflected in this cuvée, producing wines of beautiful fullness with powdery tannins. The nose is rich and smooth, revealing itself with each tasting. These are gastronomic wines that directly reflect the great terroirs of Burgundy from which they originate.
